Day 1:  The Villages ~ Elkin, North Carolina: 

Depart from 761 Hoopfer Way (located off Rolling acres rd) by motorcoach for Elkin, North Carolina. 

Rest and meal stops will be made periodically as we travel.  Gather this evening for dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Elkin.

Day 2: Lewisburg, West Virginia ~ White Sulphur Springs ~ The Greenbrier Resort:  Depart for White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.  Enjoy free time for lunch, shopping and sightseeing on own in the quaint town of Lewisburg. 

Later today we arrive at The Greenbrier, a lovely historical resort located on 11,000-acres in a spectacular mountain setting near the Virginia state border.  Recognized as the gem of West Virginia, the Greenbrier is a National Historic Landmark that has been welcoming guests from around the world since 1778.  Just as 18th-century travelers were drawn to the resort by its healing mineral springs and beautiful scenic setting, so do today’s guests refresh themselves with fine dining, luxurious overnight accommodations, 40,000 square-foot spa and numerous activities. 

Gather for dinner in the main dining room.  The team of chefs offer their style of rich Southern fare to international cuisine.  As an overnight guest, receive $20.00 free slot play and try your luck at The Greenbrier’s Casino Club.  Enjoy a mix of slots, gaming and live entertainment, plus complimentary nightly champagne toast!

Day 3:  The Greenbrier ~ Bunker Tour ~ Greenbrier at Leisure:  A bountiful breakfast buffet is included at the resort.  Later this morning enjoy a fascinating tour of the Bunker – a top secret Government Relocation Facility designed to accommodate national leaders in the event of a nuclear war.  Constructed underneath The Greenbrier during the Eisenhower administration, the complex maintained its secrecy for over 30 years. 

The balance of the day is free to enjoy and explore the grounds, shops and various amenities and activities that the resort offers. Complimentary options include afternoon tea, culinary demonstrations, historical hotel tour, on-property grounds transportation, movie theatre and use of swimming pools, hiking/walking trails.  Golf, horseback riding, fly fishing, off-road driving and falconry are also available at an additional cost.  Enjoy another exceptional dining experience this evening at the resort. 

Day 4:  The Greenbrier ~ New River Gorge Bridge ~ Tamarack ~ Statesville, North Carolina:  Today following a leisurely breakfast at the resort (included) we depart The Greenbrier and travel a scenic ride to New River Gorge National Park for a stop at the New River Gorge Visitor Center. Enjoy ample time to explore the center, gift store and scenic overlooks.  Continue traveling over the stunning New River Gorge Bridge and onto Beckley where you will experience the nation’s first showcase of handcrafts and fine art at Tamarack Marketplace.More than 2,800 artisans from all fifty-five counties in the state have become part of the Tamarack experience. For over 20 years Tamarack has greeted millions of visitors, offering unique, original and handmade Appalachian goods.

Later today we depart West Virginia and journey south to Statesville, North Carolina for the final overnight at the Courtyard by Marriott.

Day 5:  Statesville ~ Journey Home:  After breakfast at the hotel (included) we depart Statesville and begin our journey home.  Rest and meal stops will be made periodically.

A $300.00 per person deposit is due at time of booking. Final payment is due by August 16, 2024. Deposit is refundable until August 16, 2024. (less a 10% restocking fee). After final payment is made, the entire cost becomes non-refundable.
