Day 1: The Villages ~ Golden Isles ~ Jekyll Island ~ Savannah, Georgia:

Depart from 761 Hoopfer Way- located off Rolling Acres Rd. You may leave your car here.

We will travel by motor-coach north to the Atlantic coast. Enjoy a stop in the Golden Isles region of Georgia and to Jekyll Island. Purchased in 1886 by some of the most prominent East Coast millionaires, Jekyll Island became an exclusive vacation spot for the rich and famous. Enjoy a guided tour through this beautiful historic district.

Later this afternoon we journey to Savannah for a delightful two-night stay at the Hampton Inn Savannah Historic District.  Gather for dinner at the Pirate’s House Restaurant - included.

Rest and meal(snack) stops will be made periodically.

Day 2: Savannah Trolley Tour ~ Savannah Riverboat Cruise:

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel - included. 

Rich in cultural history, Savannah features elegant architecture, rare antiques and majestic gardens.  Enjoy a delightful trolley tour of the downtown area featuring many colorful town squares which were originally designed by General James Oglethorpe. 

Later today we board Savannah Riverboat Cruises “Georgia Queen” for a delightful, narrated cruise along the Savannah River. 

The balance of the day is at leisure so you may enjoy exploring a bit of Savannah on your own – shopping or sightseeing along the beautiful riverfront. 

Day 3: Savannah ~ Beaufort, South Carolina ~ Charleston, South Carolina:

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel - included. 

Later this morning we travel to Beaufort, South Carolina, known as the Queen of the Carolina Sea Islands.  Striking mansions and colorful scenery serve as a backdrop for several major motion pictures including Forest Gump.  Enjoy free time for lunch, shopping and sightseeing on own. 

Later today we arrive in Charleston, South Carolina, one of the true gem cities in the heart of the confederacy.  Gather for dinner at a local restaurant this evening - included.  The hotel for two nights is Hyatt Place Mount Pleasant, located in the Charleston area. 

Day 4: Charleston Carriage Tour ~ Charleston Harbor Cruise:

Following breakfast (included) we embark on a guided horse-drawn carriage tour of Charleston.  This lovely 300-year-old city is known for its splendid architecture.  From the stately antebellum houses to the more utilitarian single homes that shoulder the narrow streets, Charleston delights the eye.  Following the tour enjoy free time for lunch and shopping in the historic district. 

This afternoon we embark on a delightful, narrated harbor cruise aboard the paddle-wheeler, Charleston Harbor Queen.  Highlights include Fort Sumter and the lovely homes that line Charleston’s waterfront.  Enjoy the evening at leisure to explore downtown Charleston or return our hotel and choose from several restaurants within walking distance to the property.  The Hyatt Place features a casual lounge with happy hour specials (5-7:00PM) along with lighter bar fare. 

Day 5: Charleston ~ Magnolia Plantation & Gardens ~ Journey Home: 

After breakfast (included) we visit Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. This lovely plantation features one of the largest collections of camellias and azaleas in America.  Enjoy a guided tour of the home followed by free time to explore the gardens and grounds on own.  Food service and gift shop are also available.  Later today we leave the Charleston area and journey home. Rest and meal stops will be made periodically. 

Early evening return home.

Workman Transportation uses their own deluxe motor coaches. They are driven by drivers certified and licensed for motor coach transportation. Our motor coaches are air conditioned, equipped with Wi-Fi, video monitors, on-board restroom, and reclining seats.

Our hosts are experienced and will help make your trip enjoyable. They will give you lots of information along the way to make the traveling time fun and interesting. We will strive to keep you comfortable by having rest stops every two to two and 1/2 hours in the schedule.

All tours require some walking and the ability to embark/disembark a motor-coach without assistance. Advance notice is required for special dietary requests and handicap seating.
