ITINERARY:
Day 1 – Journey to Tybee Island & Savannah
Depart from 761 Hoopfer Way in The Villages (you may leave your car here). Travel aboard a comfortable deluxe motorcoach, with planned rest stops along the way.
Enjoy lunch at the iconic Crab Shack on Tybee Island, a relaxed coastal favorite known for its seafood and Lowcountry atmosphere. Continue to the Tybee Island Lighthouse, one of Georgia’s most recognizable coastal landmarks, offering lovely views and a glimpse into the area’s maritime history.
Late this afternoon, check in to the Hampton Inn in Savannah’s Historic District. This evening, stroll the Savannah Christmas Market along River Street, filled with twinkling lights, holiday vendors, and seasonal treats. Dinner is on your own. The night continues with the Holiday Sights & Festive Nights Trolley Tour, showcasing Savannah’s historic squares and homes beautifully decorated for Christmas, followed by a visit to the Festival of Trees inside the impressive Plant Riverside District Power Plant Lobby.
Day 2: Savannah at Christmas – History, Holiday Charm & Live Theatre
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before a full day exploring Savannah aboard the Old Town Trolley Tour. This narrated hop-on, hop-off tour provides an excellent overview of the city’s historic squares, stately homes, moss-draped streets, and riverfront landmarks. Decorated for the season, Savannah takes on a special charm as holiday greenery, wreaths, and lights enhance its already beautiful setting. Guests may explore at their own pace throughout the day, returning to the hotel or favorite areas as they wish.
This evening is at leisure for dinner. With Savannah’s Historic District offering a wide variety of restaurants within easy reach, you may choose from classic Southern cuisine, riverfront dining, or casual cafés before the evening performance.
The day concludes with a Christmas show at the Historic Savannah Theatre, one of the oldest continuously operating theaters in the country. This festive production features holiday music, classic favorites, and seasonal cheer in an intimate, historic setting—an enjoyable and relaxed way to celebrate the season in Savannah
Day 3 – Beaufort Charm & Charleston Christmas Carriage Ride
Enjoy breakfast before departing Savannah for Beaufort, South Carolina, a charming waterfront town known for its antebellum homes and relaxed Southern character. Enjoy time for lunch and leisure to explore the historic district and waterfront. Continue on to Charleston this afternoon.
This evening, enjoy dinner at Hyman’s Seafood, a Charleston institution famous for classic Lowcountry dishes and warm Southern hospitality. After dinner, experience a Holiday “Sleigh” Ride with Old South Carriage Works, a festive evening carriage tour through Charleston’s historic streets, glowing with Christmas lights and seasonal décor. Later this evening, check in to your Charleston-area hotel.
Day 4 – Charleston Christmas Traditions
After breakfast, visit Boone Hall Plantation, beautifully decorated for the holidays. Your visit includes the plantation house, gardens, and an engaging Gullah presentation, offering insight into the culture and traditions of the Lowcountry. Continue to Charleston City Market and King Street, where you’ll find local crafts, shops, and holiday displays. A scenic stop at Rainbow Row provides a perfect photo opportunity.
This evening, enjoy dinner at the popular Page’s Okra Grill, known for its Southern comfort food and welcoming atmosphere. The day concludes with A Christmas Carol at the historic Dock Street Theatre, a beloved holiday tradition performed in America’s first theatre.
Day 5 – Return to The Villages
After breakfast, depart Charleston and begin the journey home with planned rest stops along the way.
Arrive back in The Villages with wonderful memories of coastal charm, historic cities, and Christmas traditions in Savannah and Charleston.

Workman Transportation uses their own deluxe motor coaches. They are driven by drivers certified and licensed for motor coach transportation. Our motor coaches are air conditioned, equipped with Wi-Fi, video monitors, on-board restroom, and reclining seats.
Our hosts are experienced and will help make your trip enjoyable. They will give you lots of information along the way to make the traveling time fun and interesting. We will strive to keep you comfortable by having rest stops every two to two and 1/2 hours in the schedule.
All tours require some walking and the ability to embark/disembark a motor-coach without assistance. Advance notice is required for special dietary requests and handicap seating.
