ITINERARY:

Day 1:   The Villages ~ Fayetteville, NC:

Depart from 761 Hoopfer Way- located off Rolling Acres Rd. You may leave your car here.

Rest and meal stops will be made periodically. 

In the evening, settle in for dinner near our hotel, located near Fayetteville, NC, for a restful overnight stay.

Day 2: Onward to Washington, D.C.

After breakfast, depart hotel and continue north. We will stop for lunch.

After checking in to our hotel, enjoy a walking tour in the heart of the nation’s capitol. We start at the iconic Lincoln Memorial, where history and architecture meet beneath the watchful gaze of Abraham Lincoln. From there, visit the somber and beautiful World War II Memorial, honoring the sacrifice of a generation. We end the walk by marveling at the iconic Washington Monument, a towering tribute to the first U.S President, offering sweeping views of the National Mall. Cap off the evening with a hearty group dinner at Carmine’s or similar classic D.C. eatery. (included)

Day 3: Air & Space, U.S Capitol, Monuments by Moonlight

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel (included) and then head to the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, where aviation and space exploration come to life with immersive exhibits and historic artifacts.

Enjoy lunch at the U.S. Capitol Cafe, followed by a guided tour of the U. S. Capitol, a deep dive into American democracy. Enjoy dinner near the hotel before heading out for a breathtaking Monuments by Moonlight tour, seeing the city’s most iconic memorials beautifully lit against the night sky.

Day 4: Honoring Heroes & Founding Fathers

After breakfast, (included) pay your respects at Arlington National Cemetery, witnessing the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and visiting notable gravesites. Continue the day with lunch in historic Downtown Alexandria, then explore Mount Vernon, George Washington’s picturesque estate. Learn about his life, enjoy views of the Potomac River, and dine onsite at Mount Vernon. (included)

Day 5:  Farewell to D.C.

Breakfast at the hotel (included).  Say goodbye to Washington D.C., as we begin our journey home. Stop for lunch along the way and enjoy dinner near our hotel in Santee, SC, where you’ll stay overnight.

Day 6: Final Stretch Back to The Villages

After breakfast (included), depart your hotel and head south. We will stop periodically including a last lunch on the road before arriving home in The Villages, completing our memorable trip.

***While the motorcoach will drop us as close as possible to each site, the historic layout of Washington D.C. means there will still be a fair amount of walking. Many of the city’s most treasured landmarks are best experienced on foot, so we encourage guests to come prepared with comfortable shoes and a readiness to explore!

A $500 deposit (per person) is required upon booking. Deposit is refundable until August 15, 2025, less a 10% restocking fee. Final payment is due August 15, 2025. After final payment is made, entire cost becomes non-refundable.

Meet & Greet: TBA- at Wildwood Community Center

Workman Transportation uses their own deluxe motor coaches. They are driven by drivers certified and licensed for motor coach transportation. Our motor coaches are air conditioned, equipped with Wi-Fi, video monitors, on-board restroom, and reclining seats.

Our hosts are experienced and will help make your trip enjoyable. They will give you lots of information along the way to make the traveling time fun and interesting. We will strive to keep you comfortable by having rest stops every two to two and 1/2 hours in the schedule.

All tours require some walking and the ability to embark/disembark a motor-coach without assistance. Advance notice is required for special dietary requests and handicap seating.

Prices are per person. Rates and space are subject to availability. A minimum number of people is required for the trip to commence. Specified inclusions i.e. hotels, restaurants, shows, etc. are subject to change. Cancellation penalties will apply. Bus driver and Host gratuities are not included.
