Discover Marion County, the Horse Capital of the world!

Travel scenic back roads lined with magnificent horse farms while learning about the area's rich equestrian heritage, thriving horse industry, and culture. The tour starts at The World Equestrian Center to get overview the facility, all the lunch spots ( 5) and "Horse Show 101" to understand the competition when the group returns at lunchtime. 

Then its back on the bus for an adventure to 3 locations:

• Behind The Scenes tour of Ocala Breeders Sales Company 

• Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Association Museum to discover the history of Florida's horse industry and how it all got started.

• One of the nation's premier Arabian horse breeding farms, where you will have an interactive experience with these magnificent horses.

TERMS: There is a lot of walking on this tour, closed toed shoes required. Tour stops are subject to change. Please leave apples and carrots at home.

Itinerary:

8:00 am- Depart Lake Sumter Landing (1045 Old Mill Run)

8:20 am- Depart Brownwood - behind the Brownwood Hotel and The Center for Advanced Healthcare (click here for map)

Around 1:00 pm- Lunch at World Equestrian Center (purchase on your own)

4:00 pm- Approximate arrival time back in The Villages

Price includes transportation, bus driver tip and a bottle of water. Host gratuity is not included.
