Experience the vibrant culture and cuisine of St Petersburg, Florida!

Enjoy learning about the history and stroll among the many beautiful murals while taking in the diverse mix of locally owned shops and restaurants. On the tour you will visit 5 local eateries (equivalent to a hearty lunch) and have time to browse some of the delightful boutiques in the Central Art District, walking through the original mural alley where the Shine Mural Festival got its start. We will transport you to each venue via bus to cover more of this amazing city, there will be a few times we will take short walks to view the murals and visit boutiques in between eateries.

Tour Itinerary: (subject to change/order of the restaurants due to numbers of guests & time of day)

Taverna Costale: Created by acclaimed Chef Fabio Viviani from the fifth season of Top Chef featuring exceptional Italian food. Next, we will board the bus and head to where we will be enjoying a narration of the city with views of historic buildings on the way to the next restaurant. Red Mesa Mercado brings you the urban dining style unique to the streets of Southern California and Mexico, a go to spot for outstanding street taco’s. Then it’s off head to the Central Arts District after we board the bus to enjoy a walk through the original alley where the murals began. Plenty of photo opportunities and a chance to enjoy amazing full scale murals. Afterwards we will walk to: Pacific Counter and Cafe Sorrento where we will split the group (The restaurants are across the street from each other) Pacific Counter A fresh fusion of chef-inspired cuisines & cultures, serving up a mainland mix of coastal classics in the form of Bowls & Burritos. The best part is that everyone can create there own bowl, whether you are a fish, meat or veggie lover you get to choose whats going in! Cafe Sorrento A beloved bakery known for its freshly baked cookies, cakes, cannolis and sandwiches in a welcoming and relaxed setting.

We will spend time in the Central Arts District after our delicious foods where you will have time to relax and explore the boutiques, local art and unique shops along Central Avenue. For our final destination we will board the bus and head to get a delicious, sweet treat at Zagara Gelato the team behind Tampa Bay’s favorite Italian market Mazzaro’s. This shop offers traditional handcrafted gelato with fresh ingredients and old-world tradition, flavors that transport you straight to the streets of Sicily.

Itinerary:

9:15 am- Depart Lake Sumter Landing (1045 Old Mill Run)

9:35 am- Depart Brownwood - located behind the Brownwood Hotel and The Center for Advanced Healthcare (click here for map)

11:40 am- Arrive in St. Petersburg

4:30 pm- Tour ends

6:10 pm- Approximate arrival time back in The Villages

Price includes transportation, full tasting tour, bus driver tip and a bottle of water. Host gratuity is not included.
