ITINERARY:

Day 1 – Lane Southern Orchards & Stately Oaks Plantation

Depart from The Villages (844 Duck Lake Road) and travel to Georgia aboard a deluxe motorcoach, with planned stops along the way for rest and refreshments.

Our first stop will be at a beloved Georgia destination, Lane Southern Orchards in Fort Valley, where you’ll have time to enjoy lunch and shop at the market. (purchase on your own)‍

From there, we’ll continue to Jonesboro, where we’ll step into Georgia’s past with a visit to Stately Oaks Plantation. Enjoy a guided tour of the beautifully preserved home and grounds.

Following our tour, sit back and enjoy dinner while a local storyteller brings rich history to life through captivating stories.

After dinner, we will check in to our hotel: Drury Inn & Suites for a two-night stay. Spend the remainder of your evening relaxing.

Day 2 – Margaret Mitchell House & Atlanta History Center

This morning we will step into the world of Margaret Mitchell, author of “Gone with the Wind.” See her apartment, complete with her writing desk, period furnishings, and original leaded glass windows.

The Margaret Mitchell House is part of Atlanta History Center, which features the largest collection of Civil War memorabilia in the country.
Guests can visit the The Battle of Atlanta Cyclorama,138-year-old, 49-foot-tall, 360-degree oil painting that was once the "IMAX” of its time. Also visit the new civil war exhibit, historic houses and gardens.
Early evening, we will return to the hotel and relax with complimentary food and drinks.

Day 3 – Road to Tara Museum & Return to The Villages

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. (included) This morning before traveling home we will visit the Road to Tara Museum, an immersive experience into Gone With the Wind and the 1939 film adaptation. The museum features original movie props, authentic costume pieces, and detailed replicas of Scarlett O’Hara’s iconic gowns, including the famous green curtain dress, as well as items from the 1939 Atlanta premiere and personal artifacts of the author Margaret Mitchell.
